FAIR THEE WELL

We are pleased to announce “Fair Thee Well” – A Satirical Fansite Celebrating 50 Years of Fair, Face Value Grateful Dead Ticket Trades and Transactions.

“To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir will reunite at Chicago’s Soldier Field, nearly 20 years to the day of the last-ever Grateful Dead concert, which took place at the same venue. “Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead” will take place over three nights – July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2015 – and mark the original members’ last-ever performance together. The band will be joined by Trey Anastasio (Guitar), Jeff Chimenti (Keyboards) and Bruce Hornsby (Piano), and will perform two sets of music each night.”

In the tradition of the original Grateful Dead Ticketing Service, any desirable tickets were available via a mail order system that started on January 20, 2015 while the rest sold out instantly to scalpers and brokers on February 28th via Ticketmaster.

FAQ

Where are the shows?
#Dead50 shows will be held at Chicago’s historic Soldier Field – home to Grateful Dead’s best concert in 1995.

When are the shows?
America’s Birthday.

What time are the shows?
Yeah, it’s an all-day affair.

When does mail order start?
The GDTSTOO Mail order is officially over. If you did not win tickets, your money orders are probably lost in the mail. But don’t worry, I heard they are selling a commemorative coffee table book with everyone’s envelope artwork that will be available for purchase soon.

When is the web on sale date?
The Public On Sale Date was Feb 28th at 10 a.m. CST via Ticketmaster, but nobody I know got any good seats.

Will 3 day passes be available?
No. Not really.

What ticket and travel options are available?
None, they are all sold out. You couldn’t afford them anyway.

What types of seating options are available?
We might put the stage in the middle, or at one of the endzones. Pete’s going to flip a coin to decide on the day of the shows.

Can I buy tickets from a physical box office?
You could try.

What time will the parking lots open?
The lot never closes. Period. Overnight parking and camping is not encouraged. For accurate information please visit the official Soldier Field Parking site.

Will any other bands be opening for the Dead?
Openers include Twiddle from Vermont. Ray Anastasio is also rumored to make an appearance.

Are water bottles allowed?
Commemorative water bottles will be available for purchase two blocks south of Millenium Station, 3 for $10.

Can I take public transportation to Soldier Field?
Does it look like we care?

Is there re-entry?
Only via wing suit.

Are these really the final concerts this band will ever perform together?
IDK, ask Steve.
